Nikon Gives Future Designers A Stage Today

Nikon gives future designers a stage today

In their effort to promote creativity amongst young designers to uplift the fashion standards, Nikon Malaysia collaborates with YODA (Young Designer Arena) to enable 9 young and emerging designers to showcase their latest urban collection to the public in conjunction with YOUnity Street Fest.

The designers that were given this golden opportunity were Khalik Mustafa, Arefen Zaidin, Farliz, Salleh Hamid, Adi Suhaizad, Akmal Ibrahim and Amer Rafiqee. Most of the designs focused on street style.

DJ Hafidz and musician Kraft gave weight and spiced up the show, completing the urban street theme with DJ-ing and hip hop elements.

The models displayed the collection against a beautifully designed graffiti backdrop design by famous graffiti artist cum hair styling artist Damis, who also owns the Hot Hot Cut hair salons.

There was a surprise street act after the show, where 3 of the models walked off the stage and into the event crowd, parading the new & innovative Nikon Coolpix S1100, the only compact digital camera with a build-in projector function that adds fun to photo-taking. This surprise act turned into a photo-buzz for the event goers.
